I have been remodeling homes for people for over 6 years in the Dallas and Fort Worth Metroplex. Many of these families are updating a home in which they have been living for a while or making personal changes to an older home that they have just purchased. Either way, there are always usable construction materials that I have left over during the remodeling process that others are excited to have. I always donate my usable materials to the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore, in Denton, Texas.  The ReStore is a discount Home Improvement Center that sells quality new and previously owned goods at discounted prices.  When I show up with a truck full of cabinets, ceiling fans, toilets and more, I find the volunteers there, willing to assist me in unloading the materials. They take these materials and sell them at a reduced price to people in the area who are looking for low ReStore prices. If you walk through their facility, it looks like a mini Home Depot or Lowe’s, organized in sections based on product type. I also am given a form for a tax deduction for my client that they are happy to receive.

If you ever do any type of home remodeling, even just changing out light fixtures or faucets, consider making a donation to your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

The ReStore is opened to EVERYONE!

Proceeds from the ReStore go to Habitat for Humanity of Denton County to build more affordable homes with families in Denton County
